How long have you been in business?
I've been coordinating transportation for seniors and people with disabilities for over 10 years, but I just recently started Special Needs Chicago on my own.
What is your primary product or service?
Transportation for people with special needs and companion call services.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I've been in the industry over a decade and the time came for me to launch my own business so I could focus squarely on customer service to the organizations and people I provide service to.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Very easy question . . . it's my service. I know everyone person and their family members by name, nobody has an identification number.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location in Chicagoland, which is where my children and I live. I plan to focus on continuing to service this market and do not have plans to expand the territory at this time.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We're not a brick and mortar location. Nobody comes to us, we go to them!
What type of payments do you accept?
We invoice healthcare organizations, agencies and other businesses that are providing transportation for patients and clients. Private pay individuals pay via major credit card.
Which areas do you service?
The entire Chicagoland area (city and suburbs)
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own the company and run the daily operations. (Michelle Dacy)
What are your hours of operation?
24/7
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
I'm lucky, I have a job I love and I get a lot of compliments. Many people thank me every day, but I especially enjoy when people make a special phone call to me to let them know I've helped. My kids are getting old enough to understand what I do and they are proud of me. That's a great compliment too.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Count your blessings
