How long have you been in business?
Collar and Leash has been serving Chicagoland's Pets and their People since 1956.
What is your primary product or service?
We Board and Groom your pets. Dogs and Cats. We also trim nails for small exotics like ferrets, bunnies, prairie dogs, chinchilla's, and reptiles.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was born on the very day my Grandmother opened her first facility in Half Day, Illinois. It was passed down in the family to my Aunt and then My Mother, who recently passed on and now my Wife, and Brother are helping keep the Family Dream Alive.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have individual indoor/outdoor pens for each pet. We are always here for your pets because we live on the premises. We treat every pet as if it were our own.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have a location in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood at 1435 N. Wells St near North Ave.We sell retail supplies there and small animals. Every Weekend we hold Adoption Clinics for Dogs and Cats from various shelters and Breed rescues. This location also Grooms Pets and is a Convenient Boarding drop off point for those on the North side of Chicago
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, Cash,or Debit. Sorry we cannot accept personal checks. We do accept Travelers Checks.
Which areas do you service?
Chicago South and surrounding suburbs, and Chicago North and surrounding suburbs.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Dan Raymond and Robert Fleming are the Owners and Brothers. Dan runs the Major Operations of the Business while his Wife Sonja is the Administrative Assistant and also Supervises the Store and Employees. She is also the Pet Groomer at the Southside Location. Robert Fleming is the Pet Groomer at the North side Location.
What are your hours of operation?
The Pet Hotel Hours are;
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm
Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Sunday Closed. But since we live here we're still here with your Pet
The Retail location;
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm
Wednesday NOON to 8:00pm
Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm
Sunday 11:00am to 5:00pm
THERE IS NO GROOMING AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAYS OR SUNDAYS AT EITHER LOCATION
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
How clean our place is and how well cared for their Pets are. They have also stated that their pets get excited to come here when their owners turn the corner to our facilities. Their Pets drag them to our door.
